Nice Read. I knew you would have some insightful ideas. When you look at the changing nuclear family unit in America, I can think of three factors that I would say contributed to these changes. 1. Secularization of America 2. Moms having kids out of wedlock and getting open ended government support checks financially undermining the necessity of two parents. 3. Women entering the work force and moving towards equality in employment opportunities for the sexes. I’m sure one could write a whole essay on each of these and their long term ramifications and there’s probably more structural reasons that I’m not thinking of.
